Lamb - Christopher Moore
While the first post really should follow the theme for this blog, "New Favorite Books" I am going to start out with an old favorite. There are so many old favorites that I am sure these will romp with the new ones; I re-read a LOT.
Laughing. I end up laughing insided every time I even think about this book. I simply can't fathom the imagination it takes to be able to write a story about Jesus that includes a Wizard of Oz reference in which the protagonist notices that none of the WOZ characters has male genitalia and writes a ditty about that. (If I only had a shlong?)
Speaking of shlongs, if you are a Christopher Moore fan and you haven't checked out his website and seen the German bookcover for "The Lust Lizard of Melancholy Cove," you should. Last I looked (moments ago), it was on the FAQ/Gallery page. http://www.chrismoore.com/
Back to Lamb. It is a book that makes me laugh (as mentioned above), want to read sections aloud, and type up quotes in large typeface to put on my desk. But my coworkers already think I am twisted enough. I am not sure that anything that I put up would be at all acceptable.
