Despite the title being a steal from the Alison Krauss album, this is actually a blog about books and other new favorite things.

Loving Che - Ana Menendex

I chose this book as a book club read and I am not sorry about it. The short sections are like small memories brought on by fragrances: intense and full. I wonder if the mother (who stayed in Cuba) is representative of the old Cuban peoples and the daughter who was taken to America when she was a baby represents the new Cuban peoples. I will have to re-read this book to figure out what I think about that idea. Both are in love with Che, in different ways, and that continuity of love across generations for a leader and revolutionary appeals to me. I don't think this book is a new favorite, but it certainly is lovely and will be one that I read over again to better feel and enjoy it.
