Despite the title being a steal from the Alison Krauss album, this is actually a blog about books and other new favorite things.

Ruby Holler

Ruby Holler, by Sharon Creech

For those that love Young Adult fiction, this is a lovely book to read. I've been recommending it all over the place. My mom recognized the similarities between other books I've passed on to my parents lately, "Bud, Not Buddy" and "The Secret Life of Bees." Young kids in difficult situations find themselves with caring adults that make all the difference in their worlds.

In Ruby Holler, it is the "Trouble Twins" that find themselves in a pretty valley called Ruby Holler when they go to a new foster home. The dialog tells the story in this book. The characters are rich and interesting. A great book to read when you don't have hours to devote to reading and want to enjoy good writing.

Christmas

It's possible to find Christmas anywhere - this week I found it in Tennessee. I am here teaching a class on STORE for work and Jeff came with me to explore and drive. The classes are in Nashville, but we came a day early to do some exploring.
